Half-day orientation session of Azme Naujawan
ECI hosted a half-day orientation session of Azme Naujawan at Sachal Goth Azme Naujawan Youth Center where it delivered the insights on AzmeNaujawan project initiative along with tools and techniques of mobilization for conducting outreach drives in 14 vicinities with at least 3000 youth across Karachi.

CIB Awareness raising Radio Programs for Pakistan Microfinance Network
ECI proudly announces multiple awareness raising Radio Programs on Credit Information Bureau for Borrowers of MFIs under PMN’s Financial Literacy Program. The programs will be aired on FM 101 & FM 100 from 29th May to 11th June, 2107.

Training of Master Trainers (ToMT)
Under the Sehat Muhafiz project awarded by UNICEF, ECI will be implementing trainings for Area In-Charge across 7 districts of KPK.As a first step a 3-day Training of Master Trainers (ToMT) began in Islamabad on 8th November, 2016.
Ms. Tehmeena Ghulam received her IFC certification as Instructional Designer.
Ms. Anum Mughal, Director Client Relations received her IFC certification as a Business Edge Instructional Designer.
4-Day Training on Business & Financial Management – FMC’s Plan Pak
ECI is carrying out a project for ‘Women’s Economic Empowerment through Farmers Milk Cooperatives’ with Plan Pakistan in Southern Punjab. It recently completed the 3rd roll-out of a 4-day training for the module “Business & Financial Management” in Vehari. The lessons imparted to the locals will help them to increase their business performance and boost profitability, as well as increase the economic visibility of the the local women. This fits right into ECI’s vision of Gender Development, as well as Strengthening Institutions.
2-Day Training on Role of CIB in Effective Micro-financing
EC’s Project Manager, Ms. Rabia Khan rolled out a 2-day Training of Facilitators for PMN in Karachi. The ToF focuses on “Role of CIB in Effective Micro-financing” and hopes to impart critical facilitation skills for improving the process of obtaining micro-finance loans in the country.

ECI Senior Associate, Mr. Wajid Usmani, and Project Manger, Mr. Bakhtyar Ahmad are conducting a 4-day training on ‘Financial & Grant Management’ for Oxfam Novib and its partners in Lahore from 9-12 August. The training is aligned with ECI’s vision to strengthen institutions and empower individuals to do more and do better.

A 5-day training on “Project Management” was conducted by Mr. Saleem Jahangir, MD ECI and Ms. Rabia Khan, Project Manager for the partners and staff members of Oxfam-Novib in Lahore. ToT on “Life Skills & Career Counselling” – Muslim Hands
ECI’s Project Manager, Mr. Bakhtyar Ahmad and Ms. Tasneem Raza conducted a ToT on “Life Skills and Career Counseling ” for Muslims Hands International. A total of 34 ASTs (Advanced Skills Trainers), 28 females and 6 males, participated in the training and gave very positive feedback about the course content and appreciated the highly interactive training sessions.

ECI is currently conducting a 4-day training in Layyah on “Financial Management and Business Cycle” as part of the Famers Milk Cooperatives (FMC) project it is implementing with the partnership of Plan International
Grant Closing Ceremony of Project funded under Usaid GEP
It was a proud moment for ECI as it celebrated the Grant Closing Ceremony of its USAID-GEP (Gender Equity Program) collaborative project titled “Supporting Female IT Graduates Access into IT Sector through Internship Program”. 139 fresh IT graduates from various universities in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and AJK were engaged during this term, along with 40 IT employers. The project, which spanned across 15 months (Feb 2015-July 2016) brought wide-scale positive impact in not just the lives of 139 girls but 139 families. The event was held to celebrate the successful journey of these bright ladies who took a step towards a better, more empowered future by enrolling in this program. 120 participants successfully completed a 6-month internship program through the facilitation of ECI & GEP and 63 of them are now involved in formal jobs, freelance work and small businesses/projects like E-Skills, E-Health and E-Cafe. Among the attendees were also numerous leading professionals from the IT field, for example Mr. Ammar Jaffri (President Pakistan Information Security Association) and Ms. Mukhtiar Bano (In-charge Software Engineering Dept., FJWU) Also, GEP project partner Mr. Raheem Khan (Program Officer Capacity Building – Aurat Foundation). The long journey, which marked unlimited learning & growth experiences for the graduates in this program, may have come to an end yesterday, but it is also the start of an amazing journey ahead and we wish the best of luck to all the participants for their future endeavors!

ECI conducted a 2-day Training of Facilitators (ToF) titled ” Role of CIB in Effective Microfinancing” as a project initiative for Pakistan Microfinance Network-Microfinance Credit Information Bureau (PMN-MFCIB). The training was conducted by Mr. Saleem Jahangir-MD and Ms. Rabia Khan-Project Manager.

The training was delivered by Mr. Nazar Naqvi who is a leading expert on Financial Management and co-facilitated by Mr. Rao Akram Khurram who is one of the foremost legal minds in the country with expertise in Local Governance and Good Governance.

ECI Project Manager, Ms. Rehana Niamat attended a 3-day ToT in Swat which was organized under USAID’s Citizen Voice Project Cycle 10. The training on “Participatory Planning” was also attended by 2 of ECI trainers from KPK, Mr. Jamil and Mian Khan Abbasi.

4-Day Training of Trainer – CVP
Program Managers from ECI attended USAID Citizen’s Voice Project 4-day Training of Trainers for “Resource Management and Transparent Budgeting Training” held in Swat from 14-17 July. The training was held in collaboration with the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Local Governance School. This was the first batch of 18 trainers who will roll out further training to local government representatives in effectively performing their duties and designing more informed policies.
NARC – Islamabad
ECI conducted a training on “Effective Facilitation Skills” in a series of trainings organized for National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC). These trainings are a part of JICA’s ‘KP Province Agriculture Extension Development Project’. The training was delivered by Mr. Saleem Jahangir-MD ECI, and the ongoing session marked the 4th batch of trainings with 6 more to come in the future.
FMC Training – Muzaffargarh
The third 5-day training session of FMCs on “Organizational Management, Leadership & Conflict Management” was successfully carried out in district Muzaffargarh. The trainings are being implemented in partnership with Plan International and are a part of the Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) project.

ECI initiated its FMC trainings on ‘Organizational Management, Leadership & Conflict Management’ in Vehari for 23 participants. The project is being implemented in partnership with Plan International and covers 3 districts of Southern Punjab: Vehari, Layyah and Muzaffargarh.
